For Oluwatoyin Salau (Poem)

I wrote this as part of the Great Lakes African American Writers Conference, held each year in East Cleveland, produced by the Rev. Dr. Leah Lewis.

This year the keynote speaker was the author Pearl Cleage, and this found poem is written from a page of text in her book, I Wish I Had a Red Dress.
